The wayback machine (web.archive.org) stores past website copies from internet crawls. It has images of his website starting in December 2021. The election was then in November 2022, so we can imagine maybe he had 11 months campaigning.
3 Pinochios ( see red items below)
1) " Active in county and community affairs since the late 1970s, Glenn understands how local government works. " KEY OMISSION - Glenns Dad was a supervisor of District 2 for 12 years in the 1960s' and 1970s.
2) Glenn was fourth for fifth generation, living on 16 or more acres of land that should have been paid off generations before he was born. His father (Levi) Warren Church was Veteran, County Leader and heavily involved in commerce and Glenn seems to have owned or been partner in 6+ Milliion in real estate at the time that statement was written. . The idea that he "understands the struggles of working and middle class people would be deemed by most with current understanding as total fabrication.
3) The commitment to work with others and a county government that "acts, listens and make people's lives easier" is in dramatic contrast to a man who won't even own his own emails or that of his staff.
This is the first three of many Pinocchio's to come...
1) Improving County Services -- When you see what was asked of him in emails for support for county services patently absent and failing -- this will become a concern.
2) Church was made aware of a $190 fire inspection fee for a home that had been occupied since 1967 with no statutory reason for the inspection. All for fire prevention until Union Firefighters making 100k+ charge an additional 190 for an inspection during normal working hours for illogical reasons. That's not prevention, it's fleecing.
3 and 4) Is this double talk? Can you build affordable housing while keeping North County Rural?
What if I told you it was easy with "Alternative Dwelling Units" but he and they blocked them for the first three years -- blaming it on the Coastal Commission that seems illogical -- and then an odd water pollution contaminaent was added to the list just prior to finally approving ADU statutes 9 years after the state mandated the county to do so?
The story is actually far worse than that, not better. but that will come in time.
5) "accountability - responsiveness - and transparency "
If I told you he refused a civil demand to simply admit he wrote he emails from his email address would that concern you? It really really should....
there's more to the demand but wanted to make sure it was clear just how concerning the communication was at that time..
1) "....How can a county as rich as ours fail to solve the same problems decade after decade?"
What if the problems were in fact being caused by those who had lived here for over a century and they weren't being solved because they did NOT want them to be solved, to ensure the "quiet life" they wanted?
Is this a case if "inversionism", where a person most aligned with not solving problems was seeking to gain office to prevent solving them to protect vast real estate interests or something else?
As you will see below he states his dad and he were involved here for over 50 years. So if there were problems why is that?
1) "and then went onto the Univsersity of California Santa Cruz" . At this time we can find no records of graduation. This seems like it may have been suggestive writing.
2 and 3) hummm... he says family has been in the area for 150 years of service and dad was a supervisor for 12 years who installed first county wide growth limits -- yet the county isn't functioning well at all?
Do you see the oxymoron yet?
4) this suggests a poor and hard farm life without saying that. it does, however, appear to be suggestive writing.
As of now, it appears the money made from Christmas Trees may have been fun money for dad and himself and others -- and that will only make sense once you see the expansive reach his dad had, and the real estate Chuch owns now, which is totally omitted from this entire dialogue.
5) " Since I was 18 I have worked for myself almost exclusively as a businessman, but also a farmer." - But did he have to farm for a living -- and with dad connected to the eyeballs in the county business, was it actually that hard to go self employed at 18? And what if there was another business connection related to the Private Dump that may have been left out?
6) "I know the challenges regular people face earning a living through good times and bad" -- I have a feeling this will NOT age well as this expose progresses.
You be the judge...
7) What is "Pacific Coast Soils" and after becoming a "Soil Consultant" can you imagine he'd just stop taking those phone calls?
when he was campaigning, i tried to look up Pacific Coast Soils and could find nothing. I didn't think to use the Wayback Machin at that time, nor to check DOT records or Secretary of State Records.
8) A friend of Leone Panetta, eh? For those not familiar, Panetta was an Attorney and then Politician in CA who eventually became theworlds top Spy as the Director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). How many small business people do you konw who testify in front of Congress with ties to the head of the CIA? As for his POU/POE Water quality working group -- this should shock thee. This mastermind of business totally ignored Kiosk water as the source for safe water -- a source he and his family may have themselve relied on for decades (or not).
9) ---
10) "Served on Board of Directors of national human rights organization, including as chair managing a $30 Million budget" -- there were clues he was more connected than just a "christmas tree farmer"
11) "Columnist and Free-lance writer"
Wow. that was a surprise. I didn't recall that until preparing this website.
When you see samples of his "free-lance writing" as a supervisor to a constituent, the word "lance" may stand out more than anything else, but read it for yourself and you be the judge.
When you get the true facts about Glenn's Real Estate Portfolio and he and his families position related to the prevention of growth in North County -- this may all simply sound bizarre.
1) According to Glenn - "People who live in North County choose to live here because they prefer a rural lifestyle" -- yet these same rural people were NOT allowed to choose how they acquired their drinking water?
2) "lifestyle under threat" -- "increase in traffic" -- "once slower paced lifestyle"
3)" While anyone who owns a vacant lot in North County has right to buid on it... " -- does that sound healthy to you?
What if i told you a man was denied building a home on a lot he purchased for 20 years for no logical reason at all, at the hands of the Environmental Health Bureau and permitting office AND he then worked to institute more rules to do the same during his tenure?
In retrospect, Church's major motives for office may have been solely to shut down growth in North County -- for preservation of his own land value and personal interest.
10 Pinochios
This may get a 10 pinochios once the scoring is done.
You be the judge...
In retrospect there were a lot of conflicting signals. The prose was written such that a reader with a desire to feel he could feel the needs of the common man was able to select what they might want to remember while ignoring other things that said "business person" with some kind of CIA friend.
NOTE: There is ZERO refernce to rental property managment and/or commerical property management and ownership. NONE. In retrospect, and given the later omissions on his initial SEI 700's I believe these omissions should constitute acts of fraud. The people were NOT given an opportunity to investigate him as they should have been -- and that is then exacerbated as you learn about his Pacific Coast Soils business -- a business that likely is still thriving today in one form or another -- as it's a bit illogical to give up a good consulting gig that may have in fact been hard earned -- with clients including the State of CA, Stanford and S & P 500 companies. All of which was conveniently omitted to help ensure a connection to the "working man" that likely never was proper.
