In 2006, Pacific Coast Soils was listed in a PDF from Santa Cruz County as an Organic Soil Ammendment Provider. This document was found via a google search.
At that time they state they were doing over 5,000 cu tons of That could have been $200-300k a year in mulch alone in 2006? that's a lot of mulch.
Concern/Problem
The add states their office is "Marina". "Marina" is about 10 miles south of his home. it is the location of the private landfill that has a private landscaping organics there with massive mountains of mulch.
The concern with this is that it seems he was doing business out of the private dump. That means his dad and/or he may have had part ownership interest in the private dump that was not disclosed -- and that could make sense given his dad'd extensive ties to the county for decades prior.
Relevance
Church handled business contracts with the dump for the county citizens and some seemed odd an improper. He also ignored concerns about a very expensive fee for dumping treated lumber in an illogical manner.
